Network analysis in systems pharmacology
The tutorial reviews computational approaches that can save time and money in the drug indications discovery process.
It covers concepts such as fingerprints indexing, matching criteria, similarity measurements, pathways and networks analysis for a global understanding of drug action. Analysis of networks for pharmacologic studies is an emerging field which aims the identification of new drug targets for many diseases and improves the understanding of drugs use and effects. It also presents a novel method that make use of drug–disease associations which final aim is to personalize medicine setting by using patience genetic information.
